Welcome to the Basic Christian Newsletter!

Hi to everyone:

Im writing this first edition of the newsletter while sitting in my apartment and looking out the window at an incredible sunny fall day. Lately we have had the kind of weather that is so wonderful that creation itself actually testifies of God, Heaven and of good things through Christ Jesus yet to come.

About the Newsletter:

The newsletter structure is a work in progress but I hope to settle on just a few topics each edition to keep it short and to the point. Mostly the newsletter is going to be more personal in nature and more about the Ministry of Basic Christian than about big topics. In other words I dont see the need to reproduce into triplicate what is already being posted on the Web Site and on the Discussion Forum.

About Basic Christian:

Speaking of Basic Christian the Ministry is really experiencing an exciting time of growth and productivity. The Ministry has only been on the Internet for about 1 years but in that time we are becoming a trusted and reliable resource for sound, Basic, Christian, Fellowship.

Although only on the Internet for 1 years Basic Christian has been a long time in duration, including much Biblical research, study and schooling which for me dates back to 1995 when I first started to desire to have a more active participation within the Christian Body.

Future Events:

Tomorrow I plan on meeting Jan, she does most of the editing for Basic Christian, no editing tomorrow though we plan on having lunch and seeing the movie 4 feathers I have heard that it is a good movie about perseverance and we can all use tips in perseverance. Maybe the next issue will include a Movie Review section and I will give a brief review of the Movie. Although I only go to a few movies a year I do love to carefully review everything that I see particularly in the Light of Scripture. Im not sure that the people seated around me during the movie appreciate my talent us much as I do, but I do find it to be a useful talent, just kidding I dont talk during movies.

Technical Issues:

Im still trying to determine the best way and method to deliver the Newsletter especially regarding Html, no Html, or a mixed format. Currently this is a mixed format so if you cannot read part of this newsletter please let me know and Ill try to work out a solution.

Please E-Mail me at any time with any input or recommendations regarding Basic Christian and the Newsletter.

Lets continue in praying for and the building up of one another in the Faith and Love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

Have a :o) Jesus Day!
God Bless you,
David

Welcome to the Basic Christian Newsletter!

Hi to everyone:

I was outside walking and praying and noticed a car with a Christian bumper sticker slowly driving past me. I waved and the driver stopped the car and rolled down the window. We had a short talk and the driver went on his way. Here were people that had never met yet we were not strangers in fact we felt like family. As we each went on our way I thought about the fact that one day we would again meet in heaven and I realized that this short divine encounter was indeed a testimony of God, heaven, and of good things through Christ Jesus yet to come.

About the Newsletter:

The Halloween Special Topic newsletter is being well received and it does seem like a good way to structure the newsletter in that the regular newsletter will be more like this in content and there will be special topic version newsletters devoted to the entire issue like the Halloween issue. Currently Im trying to locate a resource, that may no longer be available, for the next special topic newsletter which is devoted to Veterans and the Military. As soon as I can get it together Ill send it out and it should be a good resource to forward to friends and family that might benefit from it.

Movie Review:

Jan and I did make it to the movie Four Feathers. Jan really liked it I must not have been in the mood for a saga. I think that I would have rather seen the Veggie Tales movie Jonah. The movie did have excellent photography and a slight reverence for God but I really prefer movies that reverence and honor God. A good point in the movie was that the more trouble that developed the more and more deeply some of the movie characters began to pray to God and that was good. The movie attempted to bring out several Nobel topics like what is bravery, friendship, and loyalty? but none of the topics were really developed leaving the movie seeming unfinished.

Welcome to the Basic Christian Newsletter!

Hi to everyone:

A couple of mornings ago I made an early trip to the grocery store it has been a while since I have been shopping that early in the morning. I was in a hurry to get things done and to get started on the day. As I hurried out of the store I stopped and noticed how beautiful and peaceful the new morning was beginning to dawn and was struck by how fresh and pleasant the new day smelled. I could even smell the dew on the nearby hills. I felt a fresh sense of awareness a renewed purpose of life and I realized that God was touching me this morning refreshing my spirit and renewing my hope. I realized that this divine encounter was indeed a testimony of God, Heaven, and of good things through Christ Jesus yet to come.

Movie Review:

I was blessed to see the new Veggie Tales movie Jonah. The movie was everything and more that I hoped it would be. Superb animation and excellent story made for complete enjoyment. I cant wait to get the dvd when it is available this January.

Current Issues:

I think the topic of Jonah is extremely relevant for our time. Jonah a Prophet of Israel was sent by God to warn the Ninevehites about their disobedience to God and of the pending judgment of God. Nineveh the capital city of the Assyrian empire, was an absolute enemy of Israel and Jonah chose to flee in the other direction to Tarshish rather than give an enemy of Israel the chance to repent and find favor with God. But repentance from all mankind is what God desires and is seeking so in the end God revealed to Jonah that He is the God of all who are willing to call upon His name, both the Jew and the Gentile.

Currently the news media would have us to believe that much of mankind is our enemy seeking to destroy our lifestyle and to do us harm. It is foremost in my mind that God is in charge of His Universe and not man therefore I fear not what man can do to me and I look forward to any opportunity to share the love of Jesus and to explain about the opportunity of Repentance and therefore the escaping of the Judgment that is to come for of all those in unbelief and rebellion against God.

Any fear that is to be reported about should be reported among the Muslim, Atheist, Pagan and other Cultists as God is seeking out those that will be called by His name and therefore revealing the empty and insignificant lifestyle of the cult. I rejoice along with each one of you as the World is ripe with Harvest and God is doing His work in these last days.

Let us continue in praying for and the building up of one another in the Faith and Love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

Have a :o) Jesus Day!
God Bless you,
David

No reason to fear the non-believer

Welcome to the Basic Christian Newsletter!

Hi to everyone:

I was out walking, noticing the dried and crumpled leaves, leaves no longer on tree branches, leaves that could only testify of a greener better time that has already passed. It really struck me how dramatic this change of season has been. We are having a real distinct fall and with this feeling of fall in the air is the unmistakable feeling of Thanksgiving. This truly is the season to give thanks to God, realizing that we too, like the dried leaf and the withered grass, exist here on earth only briefly. As I looked at the bare trees and dried ground I felt a renewed desire to be alive, to give thanks, and to glorify God. Realizing that our brief existence here on earth is indeed a testimony of God, Heaven, and of good things through Christ Jesus yet to come.

Current Issue:
Just recently our President, George Bush, decided to distance himself from conservative Christians and to also affirm his opinion of the peaceful nature of the Muslim religion. My first thought of this was of total outrage, of course he knows that the Muslims are a dangerous cult, continually breathing threats and carrying out violence against others and he knows that there is no relationship with God in cults and therefore no salvation to cult members but only everlasting damnation, yet none of this stopped him from compromising.

I then took the Presidents actions as a reminder of the importance not to compromise my own personal Christian walk. I realize that the very nature of modern politics is to compromise, but then the nature of the whole modern world is to compromise. The politician compromises, the abortionist compromises, the adulator compromises, the gambler compromises, we live in a modern world of mediocurcy and with meidoucorcy comes compromise.

It has often been well said that there is no compromise in Jesus. He didnt compromise in going to the cross and dying for us, He didnt compromise in His resurrection for us and He certainly isnt compromising in His intercession and prayer for us right now.

In determining and hoping anew not to compromise my own Christian life, I can really see the brilliance of Christianity. God has given to us our own Christianity in a secret place, in a hidden, safe, secure place. God placed Christianity and therefore eternity into our very own heart where no man and no circumstances can take away or remove our faith. Therefore we as Christians dont need to compromise, compromise is of the world but commitment is of God. Therefore by committing to knowing and following Jesus we are no longer compromising like the world but in fact through Jesus we have now overcome the world.

Jesus Himself said In Me ye will have peace... Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world John 16:33

In concluding:
In the end, knowing that we Christians are secure in Jesus, then the world and everything it has to offer, the non-believers, the Muslim, evil spirits and all of the other things of this world are not to be feared by us Christians but are to be recognized as needy, needing Jesus and needing His love and Life Eternity that only Jesus provides. With the faith in the Resurrection of Jesus to everlasting life firmly placed in our own heart we too can be bold, bold and uncompromising, knowing that like the leaf on the tree our time here on earth is short, so spend it well, spend it committed to Jesus and committed to one another.

Hi to everyone:

Summer is near and with it the warmth and light of life as the Summer light beacons us and calls us into a closer and more intimate, enlightening and warming, relationship with Go. Summer is indeed a testimony of God, Heaven, and of good things through Christ Jesus yet to come!

Current Issue:
This may be the last Basic Christian: Newsletter for a while.

InJesus is changing their format, and I totally support them in changing their free service into a paying service for the newsletter senders, their time and resources are valuable and they need to collect money in order to maintain this service, so they are now charging a monthly fee for their service. Currently I most likely will not subscribe to their service at this time and it has to do more with a Time issue than a money issue, as Im happy to have the newsletter but finding the time to put out a regular newsletter is what is missing. I do expect to subscribe to their service at a later date, so I see this as only temporary so I can wrap up some writing projects that are now becoming overdue.

As a note the www.BasicChristian.org web site and resources will remain available and free. We have the option and the ability to remain smaller than InJesus, and in doing so we can continue to operate on a free basis for our users and visitors. The continuing course for Basic Christian will be to operate at a smaller scale on a level that we can sustain, but hopefully although smaller in scale but large in quality for what we do.

Movie Review: Gods and Generals
I had the pleasure of seeing the Civil War movie Gods and Generals and it is definitely one of the Best Movies ever made! They have done a superb job of recreating a real and true to life Civil War time in America. The acting is superb, academy award quality, as the actors portray real people of a different era from American history and refrain from playing modern times cloaked in a civil war setting. It is definitely worth it to see this Big epic movie while it is still on the Big Screen.

A note as a researcher and writer one of the topics that I have done a small amount of research into is the American Civil war and it is a very interesting era to research as Americans were devoted journalers in those days before radio and TV. It seems like nearly everyone kept a detailed diary or journal of their daily and even hourly activities so we have the honor of reading intimate thoughts from a wide variety of people who lived out this part of our history. Some of these journals are even available on the internet as PDF files. I was even surprised at the amount of Religion Christianity that so encompassed the daily lives of people during that time. I remember reading one journal from an ordinary Union foot soldier as he kept a detailed diary of every days activity, and his activities were almost exclusively marching from town to town and then almost every evening of the week they went to a Church meeting either in the new town or in a tent set up by the many Preachers that traveled among the armies during the war.

America truly is a Religious Christian Nation. It was then and it is now as yesterday I saw an internet news item referencing a new survey detailing how America really leads the world as a Nation of strong spiritual beliefs and most of the beliefs are still Christian beliefs.

Since this might be a last newsletter for a while I would like to close this edition with a Special Thank you to each and everyone who has come into contact with the Basic Christian ministry. I thank you for your prayers and encouragement and I look forward to the next newsletter whenever it is.

Let us continue in praying for and the building up of one another in the Faith and Love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

Have a Jesus Day :o)
God Bless you!

Welcome to the Basic Christian Newsletter!

Hi to everyone:

A couple of days ago (Friday) I had the pleasure of attending one day of a four day major Christian event held in a stadium in San Diego Ca. The main speaker stepped up to the microphone and proclaimed that God is the God of Judgment and that one day God is going to judge the world. But that day is not today! Today is another day! Today is another Day of Gods Mercy and of Gods Grace given to us from God for our Salvation. As I sat there listening I realized that indeed this is a testimony of God, Heaven, and of good things through Christ Jesus yet to come. The speaker was Billy Graham.

2 Corinthians 6:1,2 We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the Grace of God in vain. For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored (helped/aided) thee: Behold, now is the accepted time; Behold, now is the Day of Salvation.

Billy Graham looked and seemed in great shape. Based on current news articles I half expected him to struggle up to the podium in a walker but he was fine, he told a couple of funny stories and gave a Superb message. His message was being broadcast to all of the military troops world wide on ship and on land including Iraq, Korea and Afghanistan so the theme was military oriented and the guest speaker was an Army General. Billy Graham used the current events and interwove it with the Biblical message of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32), he truly does wonderfully preach with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other. His message was one of the best that I have ever heard, the stadium was mostly packed and it was really pleasing to see many young and squirming kids in attendance and it was truly amazing to sit in the crowd and feel the Holy Spirit calm the hearts of everyone around so Billy could give his message. I dont think that I have ever sat in such an amazing event, when Billy Graham began to speak, (after a long applause and standing ovation that he was visibly not happy about receiving), the crowded stadium entered into an incredible silent hush, you could literally hear a pin drop as the message was given and the invitation was enthusiastically met by an emptying of much of the stadium as people filled the field around the stage in a act of acceptance of the message given. Billy Graham showed once again that he truly is Americas Preacher.

Current Issue: The Newsletter
The Basic Christian: Newsletter is continuing even though I stated in the last issue that it was probably the last issue but I have just not felt comfortable with ending it so look for an article about every week or so.
